OMRON Toolbus Communication Server

The Klinkmann Automation OMRON Toolbus Communication Server (OMRTOOLBUS) is a Microsoft Windows (95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP) 32-bit application program that acts as a communication protocol Server and allows other Windows application programs to access data from OMRON controllers using the OMRON Toolbus protocol. The OMRON Toolbus Server communicates with OMRON CS1-series and CJ1-series controllers via serial RS-232 interface, communication speed is up to 115200 bps.

Any Microsoft Windows program that is capable of acting as a DDE, FastDDE, SuiteLink or OPC Client may use the OMRTOOLBUS Server.

There are following OMRTOOLBUS Server versions available:

- OMRTOOLBUS DDE & Suite Link Server,
- OMRTOOLBUS OPC & DDE Server.

FEATURES

The OPC support for OMRTOOLBUS Server OPC & DDE version conforms to OPC Data Access Custom Interface Specification 2.04. The OMRTOOLBUS Server OPC & DDE version is tested for compliance and is compatible with OPC Foundation OPC Data Access Compliance Test Tool.

The OMRTOOLBUS Server DDE & Suite Link version supports the Wonderware Suite Link communication protocol.

Connected OMRON controller(s) must be configured for Toolbus communication and with baudrate matching with Baud Rate entered in OMRTOOLBUS Server, for this purpose use the OMRON CX-Programmer Windows Programming Software.

Minimizes system message traffic by dynamically calculating and optimizing poll lists to read only, client - requested items/points.

Supports multiple topics, allowing different data update rates for each PLC.

Provides a communication status flag for each topic.

Supports standard DDE among multiple applications.

SPECIFICATIONS

Hardware: IBM or compatible 386/486/Pentium equipped with a minimum of 16 MB RAM. For effective using the following is recommended - CPU: 586 133 MHz or faster, 32MB RAM or more. May require more memory to run other Windows programs simultaneously.

Software: Microsoft Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP

Computer Interface: RS-232 serial interface

Maximum Connections: Supports only point-to-point connections (one controller to one serial port)

Devices Supported: OMRON CS1-series and CJ1-series controllers.
