Klinkmann WAP Tool is a software package used to create, configure and run WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) applications on MS Windows NT or 2000 based Web servers.
Klinkmann WAP Tool allows user to configure for WAP phone (or any other WAP enabled device) use the free format queries and settings from standard MS SQL Server and Wonderware Industrial SQL Server, as well as to receive/send data from/to any MS Windows application which can act as a DDE Server (e.g. Wonderware InTouch, MS Excel) or OPC Server.
Klinkmann WAP Tool allows to configure free format inquiries (read and write) between standard Microsoft SQL Server or Wonderware Industrial SQL Server and WAP phones or any WAP terminal device. WAP Tool handles the conversions of the data into WAP format allowing as well character as graphic format operations. When using Wonderware Industrial SQL Server the database may be interfaced with fast communication speed directly into various fieldbuses and automation devices by communication software library of Klinkmann and Wonderware. Based on WAP standard, Klinkmann WAP Tool doesn´t set any limits to the amount or displaying of the data in the WAP phone/terminal device. Klinkmann WAP Tool offers also flexible tools for simulating and configuring the WAP network functions. WAP Tool is one single type software package with DDE and OPC interface and there are available flexible licence agreements for OEM-type volume users. In most application the Klinkmann GSM-Control and WAP Tool are completing each other: GSM-Control handles direct fast response limited data amount communication between the automation devices, mobile phones and PC. WAP Tool handles database inquiries including large data amounts like reports, instructions etc. to WAP phones.
