Enefit Green – over 70 renewable energy sites in one AVEVA platform and information management

Enefit was digitalized in just five years. By the end 2023 over 55.000 tags are collected by the Scada system that are also used for notifications in case of deviations and problems in the various production units.

Enefit Green project in a nutshell:

Estonian company Enefit Green, with over 500 MW of operating capacity and 700+ MW in development (as of end 2023), manages nearly 70 sites from one location using the AVEVA SCADA Unified Operator Center. Their asset portfolio includes wind, solar, hydro, and waste-to-energy plants.

Since 2017, Enefit has aimed for full centralization and real-time KPI tracking via AVEVA SCADA, now collecting over 55,000 tags. With support from Klinkmann, the AVEVA platform enables 24/7 monitoring, scalable design, system integration, and simplified management.

By the end of 2025, total generation capacity will reach 1.2 gigawatts.

Enefit Green has operating capacity over 500 MW and projects under construction for over 700 MW (in end 2023). Electricity production in 2023 resulted in 1 343 GW and heat production close to 600 GWh. Assets portfolio consists of wind parks, solar parks, one hydroelectric plant and Iru waste-to-energy cogenerating plants. Enefit manages all its operations with 154 employees operating in five countries.

Target is to manage all the assets and investments centrally from one location – complete digitalization

In 2017 Enefit Green set as its company target to manage all its production assets centrally from one location with clear real time KPI reporting based on data collected by Scada system. By the end 2023 over 55.000 tags are collected by the Scada system that are also used for notifications in case of deviations and problems in the various production units.

Klinkmann introduced the possibilities of AVEVA SCADA Unified Operator Center platform to Enefit Green for its complete digitalization. Special attention was paid to build a concept which is easy scale up and modify for the future needs.

Real time view for the management – Easy expansion and modifications for future needs

With AVEVA platform, Enefit Green receives online up-to-date data and information, 24/7 notifications, configuring assets information, integration with other systems in the various sites and a quick overview of assets to the company management with easy information sharing.

“During the previous years, we have built a complete digital platform to manage all our various capital assets and investments. We are configuring the AVEVA platform by ourselves, and when needed we reach out to AVEVA Technical Center of Klinkmann for our technical questions and Klinkmann Partner network to make new projects with AVEVA”, says Toivo Joosua, Head of Asset Management and Digitalization in Enefit Green.
