Finland’s Tallest Building, the Prysmian Cable Tower, Equipped with DEHN Lightning Protection
The tallest building in Finland, the 185-meter Prysmian cable tower, was inaugurated in summer 2025 in Kirkkonummi. It is protected by DEHN’s external lightning and grounding system, designed and delivered by Finn Electric. Securing Finland’s industrial buildings and critical infrastructure in all conditions requires specialized expertise.

With DEHN protection components, Prysmian’s cable production can continue uninterrupted in even under the harshest weather conditions. External lightning protection safeguards buildings, equipment, and people from disturbances and voltage spikes caused by lightning strikes.
Protection is especially critical in facilities like cable production plants, where high-level expertise and above-average protection standards are required. Unplanned production interruptions can be costly for companies.
Prysmian manufactures high-voltage land and submarine cables up to 525 kV. Finn Electric ensured that the external lightning protection design and products complied with IEC lightning protection standards.
The cable tower is just one part of Prysmian’s broader expansion of production capacity. The company also extended its cable factory in Kirkkonummi with a total investment exceeding €240 million.
