Rockwell Automation Micro800 controllers manage Finland´s largest hotel with 700 rooms

Klinkmann Automation Oy has supplied the room automation for Finland's largest hotel complex operating at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, with 1500 pieces Rockwell Automation Micro800 controllers connected into one flexible the automation solution.

The 13-story hotel, operated by Strawberry (former Nordic Choice Hotels), is adjacent to Airport Terminal 2, and it offers over 700 rooms. The building is 45 meters high.

Hotel Room Automation

With this project, Strawberry introduces two different hotel concepts at the Helsinki-Vantaa airport: Clarion and Comfort Hotel Helsinki Airport.

The hotel concepts will provide spa and fitness facilities, as well as five different restaurants for future travelers. Additionally, the hotels will offer high-quality meeting and conference services, along with a Sky Bar open to all visitors. Launderette is also provided for the Comfort hotel customers, and check-in and check-out work on a self-service basis.

To fulfill the automation requirements of the different type of hotel premises, the high flexibility and easy maintenance of the Rockwell Micro800 control system are crucial factors for the successful hotel operations.
