Kemira – remote customer service concept with HMS gateways and AVEVA PI information management
Kemira with its 4 900 employees and revenue of over € 3,5 billion, is a global leader in chemical production for various industries incl. water and pulp & paper segments. Kemira selected Ewon Flexy remote edge devices for their remote solution, with co-design support by Klinkmann project personnel. With standard solutions, the project was efficiently completed within a short timeframe.

Kemira project in a nutshell:
Kemira maintains and supplies to its customers the KemConnect system for remote monitoring and digital service, building on 20 years of experience in remote chemical tank level tracking. To unify diverse devices into one system, Kemira uses HMS Ewon Flexy Edge gateways for its versatility, modularity, and remote configurability.
Klinkmann supports in implementation and training. KemConnect gathers data via Ewon Flexy edge gateways and delivers it online to the server(s) and to various users. The system boosts productivity, enhances customer service, and enables optimized chemical dosing—saving water, energy, and chemicals. Widely used by Kemira’s staff, the solution reflects strong collaboration with Klinkmann, which Kemira values highly.
Kemira Boosts Remote Monitoring
Kemira began developing remote monitoring solutions over 20 years ago, initially to automate chemical tank level tracking. As needs expanded to include various measurement devices, Kemira required a unified system to integrate equipment from different suppliers. This led to selecting the HMS Ewon Flexy Edge solution for remote connectivity.
Remote monitoring has been increased with both Ewon Flexy, AVEVA PI platform and KemConnect application.

Supported by Klinkmann’s services incl. training, Kemira efficiently completed the roll out. Within less than one year of system piloting and development, Kemira launched KemConnect, a data collection platform as the center to Kemira digital customer services.
KemConnect aggregates real-time field data via Ewon Flexy Edge devices and delivers it through a user-friendly interface. The system is device-independent, ensuring long-term compatibility as technologies evolve.
